  • My commute is 20 miles per day day, approximately 45 to 55 minutes each way (depending on wind, weather, etc.)
  • My average speed over the last 3500 miles is 10 miles per hr.
  • On a bicycle, I averaged 14 to 17 mph over a 6800 mile distance .
  • My average calorie burn was 1000 per 20 miles on a mountain bike . I average 2300-2400 calories for the same distance on a Rowbike, though the trek is a bit longer (in time) than a bicycle.
  • Rowbike is the "best bang for the buck" as far as getting the best workout for the time invested
  • This last stat is life-changing literally: On Dec. 25, 2004, I weighed 378 pounds. On Nov. 6, 2007, I weighed 236 pounds.
